The success of the air freight forwarding sector

In the past, people couldn't imagine a time without travel. All they wanted was to fly. That's why airplanes were born. Ultimately, technology made it possible for people to sit close to the pilot on the plane. People became restless because they started thinking of some useful ways to use the plane.

It was in 1910 that the idea emerged that an airplane could be used to transport cargo. History shows that a piece of silk was the first to be transported by plane. The shipment was transported from Dayton to Columbus, Ohio. This would be the first demonstration of air freight.

Even back then, flying was an innovation.

Air Cargo

Another shipment occurred in 1919. A converted bomber was shipped by American Railway Express. The cargo weighed 1,100 pounds and was transported from Washington, D.C. to Chicago. Unfortunately, the plane and radiator froze and they had to land in Ohio. However, this did not stop people from using the plane as a cargo carrier.

By the late 1920s, more and more airlines were operating as cargo carriers. The creation of the carrier was used only for American business. Air freight not only helped them in transporting goods quickly but also in speeding up the process.

There is no denying that the primitive stages of the air cargo industry witnessed remarkable growth.

Between 1927 and 1931 the number and size of shipments increased from 45,000 pounds to nearly a million pounds. Although some effort was made to plan and organize air cargo operations, commercial air cargo was not active until after the end of World War II.

The 4 most well-known major airlines, namely: American, United, TWA and Eastern, formed Air Cargo Inc. The company's main mission was to collect and deliver cargo.

Air freight operated to the end of the world. But in 1944, United and TWA began to become independent and have their own air freight company.

Many small aircraft owners wanted to be part of the air cargo industry but were not accepted. The big airlines didn't like the smaller airlines being in this sector. One reason for this was the possibility of small airlines ruining the industry's stable situation. Another reason was that the first one didn't want to participate in a competition.

Unfortunately, the small aircraft operators who have tried have hit the curb. Only one survived: it is called the 'Flying Tigers'. Flying Tigers emerged because they carried military and civilian cargo. And previously it was also known as the largest in the air freight line sector.

Despite the good start, the air freight sector has not developed much. Things weren't working well at the company. Until someone in the name of Fred Smith opened his new air freight business, now known as Federal Express.

The air freight industry today

Federal Express is known as one of today's successful air carriers. With the help of modern technology, it now uses air freight software to meet the needs of its customers. Air freight software is the latest innovation for freight forwarders. It solves any problems in the system and provides excellent and cost-effective services.

Today, FedEx or Federal Express is linked to (UPS) United Parcel. The two carriers are now known as the most reliable and reliable air delivery services in the country.
